So the body finally did give up.

Shimon Peres died this morning, following a stroke 2 weeks ago.

Another battle he did not quite win.

3

Having been Peres’ neighbor for many years, I can honestly say I met the man many times.

Did shake hands with him a few times; shared the lift/elevator – even had the same plumbing problems as he.

4

As opposed to one or two other recipients of the Nobel Peace prize, we can honestly say that the man dedicated his life to the search for peace.

5

He really did know the neighbors the Jews inherited when they established the State of Israel. He recognized the cultural differences and the uphill struggle that would aways be there.

6

Never gave up the fight for peace.

If Rabin was ‘My Friend’, then Peres was ‘Our Partner’.
