Adding numbers is very easy.  First you want to write out the problem.  Then, make lines or dots for each of the numbers.

After that, count all of the lines you drew.

After you got the answer from counting all of your tally marks write the total number of tally’s by the equals sign.

You can also add by counting on your fingers.

If we had the problem 1+8 you would hold up 1 finger and count that, then hold up 8 fingers and continue counting.
