Book Report-The Interpreter

Name of the book: The Interpreter

The genres of the book are drama and political thriller. The plot is not very clear all the way from the beginning, I chose the black color to symbolize “the dark side” of the plot.

I chose to add to the cover some pictures that characterize the book: the picture where Sylvia heard about the plot to kill Zuwanie, the picture where Sylvia and Tobin are talking about what she heard and started to believe in each other, and the picture when Sylvia walked down the street while someone followed her.

The book is all about chasing. 

Summary

Sylvia Broome, a translator in the U.N, accidentally hears a plot to kill Zuwanie (an African leader). The people who plotted it found her eavesdropping
and she escaped to her house.

The next day Sylvia hears things that remind her of the plot and decides to contact the police.

The police put in charge Tobin Keller over the case and to guard Zuwanie and Sylvia.

Slowly we discover more of Sylvia’s matters, like her family’s death because of Zuwanie, who Sylvia had previously worked against.

Finally, Zuwanie speaks in the U.N, the assassin is caught and Zuwanie led to a secured room, but they didn’t know that Sylvia is waiting in the room to kill him. However, Tobin manages to stop her and Zuwanie goes to jail.

Sylvia Broome

Sylvia Broome is a tall woman in her 30’s, she has a long fair hair and clear blue eyes.

Sylvia is wise and loyal because she wants to help and to know more about the plot and how to prevent it. She doesn’t change her opinion and she stands with her truth; She is suspicious; She is brave because she is still on the hunt, although she knows that her life is in danger.

Tobin Keller

Tobin Keller, a tall thin man, with tired sad brown eyes.

Tobin is a hard-working man, because he works hard to succeed his assignments; he knows how to behave under pressure; he is also suspicious.

Zuwanie

Zuwanie is my least liked character, because he killed many people that did not agree with him. He is scary. He made the entire police worry for his safety but at the end it turned out to be his publicity prank.

Recommendation

I recommend you read the book ” The Interpreter”. It is a drama and a thriller book, and if you like these genres, you will probably like this book. The beginning of the book hooks you, you want to keep on reading the book. Every moment in the book there is something that could happen which you probably never expecting. The end of the book is surprising.
