What if we had no pinkies?

It seems that the pinkies are worthless, but if we had no pinkies, lots of things would change. To begin with, we would count in an octal base, which means that we would have 8 digits instead of 10. That’s because we would have 8 fingers, and just like we invented the numbers in a way that matches the number of fingers we have, we would invent the numbers with 8 digits.

More importantly, without pinkies our homes would constantly be in a terrible mess. It’s a known fact that the role of our foot pinkies is to get the furniture back in place (by bumping into them). Without our pinkies, there would be nothing to get the furniture back in place.

Last but not least, without pinkies I would probably write this paragraph in French. The reason UK became such a large empire, was because of their successful afternoon tea parties. If they couldn’t raise their pinkies while drinking their teacup, their tea parties would be ruined. Therefore, their culture wouldn’t exist, and the French empire would become the dominant one.

In conclusion, pinkies may seem worthless, but they are actually priceless.
