Where I’m From

I am from a basketball family,

from my dad and God.

I am from Dixon Elementary school.

I am from the smallest town,

and watching my brother play basketball.

I am from my brother shocking my sister with a Cattle Prod,

and taking my first dribble with a basketball,

from being hard working,

and loving my family

and appreciating the hardships I overcame.

I am from reading the bible

and going to church camp every summer.

From my dad being disappointed in me

when I didn’t work hard enough in a game

and him telling me he is proud of me today.

I am from riding our four wheeler in my favorite field

and doing everyone’s laundry and chores

I am from praying for forgiveness,

trusting in God.

From leading my boyfriend to christ,

the egging of signs with my best friends,

and the first night I danced at KA.

I am from laughing hysterically

when my brother, sister, and parents reminisce with me.
