The Amish live in 30 countries in United States.

they live in farms far away from the city and from

the modern ways.

The Amish have been in America for a long time. The first ones arrived in the early 18^th century.

The Amish way of life is diffrent, they don’t have electricity or telephones in their homes.

They don’t use a car, they use a horse and buggy instead.

The houses of the Amish are large and the rooms have plenty of space so that they can host meeting of churches.

The Amish wear simple clothes, some of them wear

only black and white,
the boys wear dark trousers and suspenders,

and the girls wear long dresses with long sleeves.

The Amish work in childcare and housework

such as cooking, laundry and more …

They work on a farm and at food stalls.

The Amish children attend school for eight years

and then they help on their parents’ farm.

Amish have large families with many children,

and they can only marry Amish church members.

The Amish choose to live their lives this way

because it is their religious beliefs,

and they are used to living differently from ours.
