     International Theatre Institute (ITI) started World Theatre Day in 1962. It is celebratednın 27 March by ITI centres.
     They organize so many theatre events on 27 March.
The aim of World Theatre Day is to take our attention to the importance of theatre.

     The International Theater Institute was established in 1948. With a decision taken in 1961, this institute accepted the 27th of March as the World Theater Day. It is celebrated as the Theater Festival on March 27 in the member countries of the institute every year.

     World Theatre Day was created in 1962 by the International Theatre Institute . It is celebrated annually on 27 March by ITI Centres and the international theatre community. Various national and international theatre events are organized to mark this occasion.. The first World Theatre Day International Message was written by  Jean Cocteau (France) in 1962.

                           WORLD THEATER DAY  

     World Theater Day has been celebrated on 27th of March every year since 1961. Various shows are organized both in our country and around the world on March 27th. Every year, on World Theater Day, a different person writes a statement. The person who writes this statement can be succesful director, writer or actor. The person who wrote the first statement was Jean Cocteau.

     The theater in our country dates back to ancient times and it contiunes to develop. Many schools have been established to support the theater. Turkey has many succesfull performers and directors.

WORLD THEATER DAY 

     Founded in 1948, the International Theater Institute was recognized as “World Theater Day” with a decision dated March 27, 1961. Every year, a declaration is made by art and theater professionals from the member countries of the institute. Read the steps.

     On March 27, theaters were staged for free, so people who have never been to a theater can meet and love the theater. Turkish hand theater; Middle play, shadow play, village theater performances, meddah dance and singing or imitation. Our famous theater artist Muhsin ERTUĞRUL, who devoted his life to theater, also wrote the first declaration about thiotherapy in our country. Water therapy is a shipping of life. The pains, joys and events that sometimes make you laugh and sometimes make you think are portrayed by the artists on the stage. Man relies on himself in the theater. The theater, which takes on an educational role, also helps us to think.

     All over the world, 27 March is recognized as World Theater Day. Many national and international events are celebrated. World Theater Day is seen as an opportunity for people in the theater world to celebrate the unifying power of the performing arts, to establish better communication with the audience, and to increase understanding and peace among people. The events held on the World Theater Day play a role in bringing together national and regional theater groups, as well as their international functions.
