Gaming is a hobby of many people and is becoming more and more popular every year. Today, there are at least 211 million people who are interested in gaming and play video games. There are many different types of games to play and many different variations of them. The main demographic of video games are younger generations, such as children, teenagers and young adults, but older people also can play video games. Some types of games include action, adventure, open world, puzzle, thinking, horror, simulation and many more.

Adventure Games

The most popular genre of gaming is adventure. Some of the most successful adventure games include Minecraft, Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda.

Minecraft is a game in which you need to adventure through a world, explore it, collect resources, find new biomes and more. The game was released in 2011 and has remained popular for an entire decade.

Super Mario is a game in which you are a plumber named Mario and need to save a princess from a giant turtle named Bowser. The concept may seem strange to people who aren’t familiar with the game, but the game is very well known by now. The first version was released in 1983, but there have been many more games from the franchise since then.

The Legend of Zelda is a game similar to Super Mario. You need to save a princess from an evil warlord. It was released in 1986 and was a very popular game.

Open World Games

Open world games are another popular type of video game. Games like UnderTale and Subnautica are some examples of successful open world games.

UnderTale is a game with less advanced animation on purpose. In the game you need to go around the UnderTale world and collect different items, find creatures and more.

Subnautica is a game in which you are an astronaut that survived a spaceship crash. You land on an alien planet and you need to survive in the open world and interact with aliens.

Horror Games

Horror games are less mainstream than adventure as they aren’t suited for everyone and especially not for children, but they still have many fans. Some popular horror games are Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) and Bendy and the Ink Machine.

FNAF is a game where you are a security guard working the night shift at a restaurant. There are animatronics in the restaurant, and each one is possessed by a children’s spirit. While you are working you have to make sure the animatronics don’t enter your office so they won’t attack you.

In Bendy and the Ink Machine, you are a character named Henry and you are asked to go back to an old workshop. However, once you enter, you find out that a person in the workshop is alive and chasing after you. You need to find a way to escape the workshop.

There are many other different kinds of games and what we wrote about is just scratching the surface of the vast amount of different genres and variations of gaming. Since the first video game was invented, gaming has become increasingly popular throughout the years, and the rise of video games shows no signs of stopping any time soon.
