BARCELONA
Barcelona is the capital city of the autonomous community of Catalonia in Spain and Spain’s second most populated city, with a population of 1.6 million within its administrative limits. Its urban area extends beyond the administrative city limits with a population of around 4.7 million people, being the seventh-most populous urban area in the European Union after Paris, London, Madrid, the Ruhr area, Berlin, and Milan .It is one of the world’s leading tourist, economic, trade fair, and cultural centres and its influence in commerce, education, entertainment, media, fashion, science, and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the world’s major global cities.

ROME
Rome was called the “Eternal City” by the ancient Romans because they believed that no matter what happened in the rest of the world, the city of Rome would always remain standing.
The exact origins of the city of Rome are still somewhat of a mystery. There are several theories all based on the writings of ancient authors and the archaeological discoveries.
For this reason, the founding of Rome is based mainly on legend and myth, instead of solid facts and figures. The existence of a Roman Kingdom was even questioned during practically two centuries by expert historians.

TOKYO
The city is situated in the middle of the archipelago’s main island of Japan, Honshu. Here is the seat of government and residence of the Emperor of Japan. Also gave the name of Tokyo is one of Japan’s 47 prefectures, including Tokyo and some neighboring areas and some islands of the south. In the metropolitan area, the largest in the world.
It is a Megalopolis. Tokyo, “eastern capital” and capital “of the country’s rising sun” in 1869, turned into a brilliant city. The city suffered from the earthquake of 1923 and the bombing of the period 1942-1945.

ISTANBUL
With a population of over 18.8 millions Istanbul is a Megalopolis and the main financial, shopping and cultural center of Turkey. Spread over 27 of the 39 districts of the province with the same name as one of the largest metropolises in the world. The economic capital of Turkey and the prefecture of the province with the same name. The European side is located in the historical region of Thrace and Asia in Anatolia.
Istanbul is the only city in the world which lies on the shores of two continents, Europe and Asia. It is located in the northeastern Marmara Sea
Ottoman Turks lead by Sultan Mehmet II conquered Constantinople in 1453.
Between 15th and 16th centuries, sultans built many mosques and public buildings, topping the population again around half million by the mid 1500’s.

MECCA
Mecca is the holiest of Muslim cities. Muhammad, the founder of Islam, was born in Mecca, and it is toward this religious center that Muslims turn five times daily in prayer . All devout and able Muslims attempt a hajj to Mecca at least once in their lifetime. Because it is sacred, only Muslims are allowed to enter the city.
The city of Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the Islamic religion’s holiest city. Its position as center of the Islamic world is attributed to it being the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and to the religion he founded.
Ancient Mecca was an oasis on the caravan route linking the Mediterranean world with South Arabia, East Africa, and South Asia. It had become an important trade and religious center, known as Macoraba, by Roman and Byzantine time.

PARIS
The city of Paris is located in the northern part of the Republic of France, one of the richest, most beautiful and most attractive cities in the world.
It has the largest population in comparison to other French cities and has a population of more than two million.It covers an area of approximately 105 square kilometers.In the middle of it is the Seine River, which divides it into two halves
Paris is famous for its elegance, fashion, literature and arts.It also contains many shops that include the most famous international brands, as well as international fashion houses and world-renowned designers.
The history of Paris dates back to approximately 259 BC, with the Parisii, a Celtic tribe settled on the banks of the Seine. In 52 BC, the fishermen village was conquered by the Romans, founding a Gallo-Roman town called Lutetia.

VENICE
Venice, major seaport, and capital of both the provincia of Venezia and the regione of Veneto, northern Italy. An island city, it was once the centre of a maritime republic. It was the greatest seaport in late medieval Europe and the continent’s commercial and cultural link to Asia. Venice is unique environmentally, architecturally, and historically.
Together with Padua and Treviso, the city is included in the Padua-Treviso-Venice Metropolitan Area , which is considered a statistical metropolitan area, with a total population of 2.6 million.
Uniquely among Italy’s chief cities, Venice came into being after the fall of the Roman Empire in the West.

YAKUTSK
Yakutsk is the capital city of the Sakha Republic . It is situated on the Lena River. It used to be a small wooden fort built in 1632 by Russian Cossacks who were exploring Siberia .Nowadays it is a big city with the population of more than 250,000 people. The city of Yakutsk presents a mixture of modern tall buildings, Soviet time blocks of apartments and old wooden houses. The city was built on permafrost, a layer of frozen soil hundreds of meters deep which never melts. Most of the constructions are on stilts so that the heat from the buildings does not melt the layers below.
In the winter Yakutsk is shrouded in “habitation” fog, brought about when the air is so cold that hot air from houses, people and cars cannot rise. It is not a good idea to walk out in the streets of the city in winter when the temperature falls below -40C.
