Katie’s story

On Monday she wore a purple dress with hearts and white sandals. Katie felt proud she doesn’t need to listen to anybody telling her what to do she can make her own decision.

Katie decided, no one has to tell her what to wear or do. when Katie got to school she saw a girl coming towards her. Hi! I’m Kayla, do you want to play with me after school!? Katie felt happy, she doesn’t need to be with the “cool girls”, she will have her own cool friends.

On Saturday and Sunday she had her days of. Katie had time to think about what her mom told her.

When Katie got home she felt sad. her mom came in to her room and said. “Katie sweet heart you don’t have to try to be pretty and cool like the cool girls. you are already beautiful just the you are.

On Friday Katie felt sick so she didn’t go to school .

A black and white spotted shirt white pants and pink sandals. “Sandals aren’t pretty and that’s why we wear sneakers”.

On Tuesday she wore a black skirt a leopard pattern shirt, white sneakers and a high ponytail. “We don’t wear skirts, we wear pants” said Emma, another one of the “cool girls”.
