Introduction
This book is a method for students to learn about the common prepositions used in every day conversation. Students will learn a song to help them remember the prepositions along with looking at visuals to associate with the common prepositions.
Objectives
After this lesson students will be able to:
- Students will demonstrate the action of the preposition.
- Students will describe what the meaning of each given preposition is.
What are prepositions?
Prepositions tell us where something is in relation to another object.
What does that mean? Some of the words that are prepositions are, inside, outside, below, between, beside, above, in front of, and behind. Let’s take a look at some of them!

Ms. O’Boyle is above the couch.

Ms. O’Boyle is behind the door.

Ms. O’Boyle is below the pumpkin.

Ms. O’Boyle is beside the cat.

Ms. O’Boyle is between the birds.

The desk is in front of Ms. O’Boyle.

Ms. O’Boyle is inside the egg.

The ice cream is outside of the cone.
