French and Indian War: The French and Indian War was a major cause of the Revolution because the British wanted to pay for the War using Colonial Taxes.

1763 Treaty of Paris: This treaty ended the War and gave up French territory

Response to Early Causes of American Revolution
Proclamation of 1763: This was a law that said Colonials couldn’t settle west of the Appalachian Mountains which upset many colonists
Stamp Act: This was a direct tax on Georgia that imposed a tax on everything that was mailed, which again upset colonists
Intolerable Acts: This really set off Colonists and took the dispute to a next level, this was more of a punishment than tax, which upset Colonists.

Vitalizing the Revolution
Thomas Paine’s Common Sense: This was a political pamphlet that was used to get Colonists behind the fight for freedom and was very influential in getting support for the Revolution.
