Amish people’s lifestyle:

Amish life expectancy has hardly changed since 300 years ago when they settled in Ohio.

The family is the only “society” that the Amish have. They usually have a lot of children and the average is between 7 and 10 children.

The religion of the Amish people:

Amish people believe in the Bible that tells them they should be cut off from the world without any “connection to it” that explains their strange way of life.

And they live exactly as it says there.

Amish people have several concepts that characterize their faith:

Baptism – Men who feel they are mature enough to decide if they believe in baptism.

Bible – According to the Bible they live and decide what is allowed to do and what is forbidden.

Kiddush – they usually do it twice a year once in the spring and a second time in the fall.

Eternal security – they believe in humility and he who believes can not lose his salvation.

Evangelism-The doctrine of Christianity that they believe in like many Christian religions.

Heaven, and Hell – The Amish people believe in Heaven and Hell.

The family life of the Amish people:

The Amish people have a lot of children, and they tend to live in the same house for several generations.

The young people are engaged in traditional education and the others are engaged in world education up to eighth grade, after which they choose whether to move to work in the church as adults.

In addition the older family members are respected, and cared for by the rest of the younger family members.

Amish Women and girls wear identical modest dresses, with long sleeves, and long skirts that reach to the floor. And above the dresses they wear aprons. In addition they never cut their hair and it is constantly wrapped in a headdress, the married women would wear a white headdress and the girls who were single would wear a black headdress, and they would not wear jewelry.

Amish male attire:

Amish boys and men would wear suits in dark colors, wide pants, suspenders and shirts in the same color. Socks, shoes, and extinguishers in black or wide-brimmed straw.

Amish people’s schools:

Amish people are educated so that they study only up to eighth grade without high school. And in addition are divided into classes according to their levels of study.

Most Amish children attend private schools in one or two rooms.

And teachers’ salaries among Amish people are very low, so there are few teachers.

The homes of the Amish people:

Amish people’s houses are usually built on 2 floors, if the rooms are large and spacious so that they can hold large gatherings there, and even some have churches in the house. Games, and a place to store cans as well as a warm place to live for the cold months.

Where did the Amish people originally come from:

Having initially settled in Ohio they have dispersed and are now in 30 states. Ohio has the largest Amish population. Followed by Pennsylvania and Indiana.
