To Our Readers
This plan outlines various domains and language skills tailored to cater to the diverse needs of students at Ort Kseifa Abu Rabe’a. Special attention and additional support are provided to, firstly, PHD (Pupils Having Difficulties) students, who often find themselves in mixed-ability classes, and, secondly, to AMAT ( עמ”ט )students who challenge their abilities and skills to gain 5 points in the main subject and science. The goal is to empower these students, boost their self-confidence, and nurture their language abilities through the implementation of extracurricular projects aimed at enhancing their speaking skills. Additionally, cooperative writing workshops are conducted to facilitate self-expression and the sharing of ideas among students using various learning and assessment platforms and programs.
At the Junior High level, we maintain a Google Sheet to track students who are less active or require assistance, as well as those who are actively engaged. Our teaching staff operates through a shared email address, [email protected], which enables each English teacher to stay in touch with their students and collaborate effectively. Moreover, we maintain a WhatsApp group for daily communication and collaboration among the staff.
To further enhance students’ language learning, we have acquired a program from a provided list, which caters to students of all proficiency levels. This program integrates elements from our coursebooks and supplements them with materials from Mitzav and Bagrut modules, particularly modules A and C. Additionally, we have implemented other initiatives called Let’s Talk, Il-Tw Matched schools penPal program, and We Speak, Gefen program for weaker students (30 hours each level) supported by the Ministry of Education. Furthermore, students actively participate in various competitions, including debates, spelling bees, and other similar events.
