A Acorn History…

    My story is different from the other acorn stories written before because I’m the one like you having some concerns for the future, some achilles heels,and have a lot of dreams that we don’t make sure of their realities.

    I thought I could get used to live in the nature,but I came to recognize that I have been wrong. Day by day the world has been changing and passing away in just the same way we have. Furthermore some dreams have disappeared into the blue, too.The thousands are hiding their dreams behind a melting iceberg. However, I will make my dreams come true and I will fight until there will be the only one left  happy and alive…

Every day I and other acorns are being exploited in various ways that none of us can stand. Animals, and to a lesser extent, but also humans use us as food. I am terrified that I can be kidnapped and eaten at any moment. I used to feel safe because I knew that hidden deep in the forest no one would ever find me. Nowadays, due to the development of technology and machines, people are constantly destroying my forest house. Now and then the number of my brothers and sisters in my area is diminishing. Every day I receive information about the disappearance of my friends and family members. Because of inattentive people and their stupidity, my home is also threatened in other ways, such as fires. They make fires and then leave them all without putting them out properly, and those are the consequences. Recently, gale-force winds have caused horrific damage in our forests. Despite all these obstacles, we are still alive and people or other phenomena will never stop us from living.

    I was a little scared at first. I thought Kerem forgot to water me. But not as I feared. Just when my soil started to dry, Kerem came and said, “I don’t know if you can hear me under the ground, but don’t think I forgot to water you Hat, I’m here.” said. He poured the water slowly and sufficiently. I could feel the water, I was pretty full. I tried to thank Kerem but was unsuccessful. My voice was not coming out from under the ground. In order to talk to Kerem, I had to turn into a sapling as soon as possible. So I was determined to do my best.

    In the following days, Kerem came back every time my soil dried up. He was watering me and talking about how the weather was and how his day was. I listened to him sometimes with joy, sometimes with surprise, sometimes with sadness, sometimes with fear.

    Days, weeks, even months passed like this. From time to time, the birds would visit me, and they would sing; insects were crawling on my soil. I was very used to my nest now and I was starting to germinate in the soil, but I still couldn’t get to the surface. Then one day, when Kerem came to me again, I said that I will come to the surface from now on. Now I wanted to see that beautiful nature with my own eyes. So I gathered all my strength and managed to push the soil with all my strength and come to the surface. Kerem was very happy when he saw me, even he was very surprised and dropped the watering can on the ground and said, “You, you have succeeded, now you are a small seedling and you don’t have a hat anymore, Hat!” And I said, “Yes, I managed to see this perfect sky, the birds, trees, animals, my flower pot and especially you, whose voices make my day happy; I miss talking so much.” From today, a new era began for me.

I’ve already made my choice. I should have gone to my brothers. I told my wish to Kerem. He welcomed me with understanding, but he said that it would not benefit me or my brothers, on the contrary, I would be harmed. He was right in what he said, but I couldn’t just stand here doing nothing. Kerem said that he would think about me giving him time during this time. There was nothing I could do.

While kerem was at school, i was continue to watching  outside. Meanwhile, a sparrow caught my attention, it was carrying a seed. I called the sparrow. It heard me and came to me. I asked where they were going. The seed said “The other day, while I was looking for a place for myself, I came across a sparrow. The sparrow told me that he came from the forest where the fire was, and that people from different countries came and helped to revive the forest. After hearing this, I asked the sparrow to take me there. Agreed to take me into the forest”. This made me very happy to hear. So there were still conscious people.  I said goodbye to the sparrow and the seed.

    Kerem came home with excitement towards the evening. He approached me and said “I have a surprise for you” and started to tell me. A group of people came to my school today to raise awareness about nature. They told us how important the protection of nature is both for us and for the world. I went to them and asked how I could help nature. they told me to write an article that could raise awareness of others about this issue and send it to them.

    So, they said, we can reach more people with my article.
