This year  I studied Pedagogy,it was super intresting because I was exposed to diffrent teaching methods. I perticllallary liked the lecture about the “hook” . Before srarting a new subject the teacher has to intress the class and drawn them to find intress in what she/he is about to teach. The second lecture that I learned from and practically started to implement was how important it is  to teach the vocabularry before reading and starting to do activities regarding the new subject.

The thing that I was struggling with as a teacher was how to manage to overcome the differentiate issue in class.what to do with the advanced students and how to deal with the struggling students.we learned that we need to take care and bring diffrent books and assigents to early finishers(EF) and simple tasks to the struggling students. Do not ignore them they deserve equal attention.

I found that playing games  as a way to repeat the material that I taught ,is a fun way to reherse and everyone enjoys and benefits from it. The trick is to play a game that everyone can participate. It is also important to play a game that doesn’t require expensive materials and doesn’t require a lot of planning and preperations.

I learned that children of all ages want to be seen and listen to.They will open up to you if they sense that you are sincere and mean well. Ateacher is not only a person that teaches school metirial but a entor and a grown up that will listen and help in any way He or She can.

I would very much like to learn how to teach students to write paragraphs ,essays and papers. It is a skill that I myself am struggling with. I know the basic how to teach them to write sentences ,I always tell them that in English every sentence must contain a verb. but,  I wish I knew how to guide them further. We didn’t have time to wrk on this very important skill.

I hope will do it next year. Jennifer always told us that a teacher will avoid teaching a skill that He/She is less good at.

I want to beat that!!!!

Next year I want to learn about the ministry of education curriculum in depth. I want to be introduced to Penny or’s doctrine on how to teach a language. She is an amazing woman that back in 1979 already understood the need of teaching vocabularry instead of wasting so much time on teaching grammer.

I want to learn the secret of what makes a great teacher, how to make the kids respect me without raising my voice.

I don’t want to be concidered weak if I smile .

I am currently teaching at Talma which is a project that combines an Israeli teacher and an American teacher to co teach in third grade Israeli classrooms. This is my second year teaching and I enjoy every minute of it. I am using all the teaching skills that I have been studied this past year.

I play with them, teach vocabulary, learn and listen to what they want and have to say.I use a lot of ice breakers games, songs,I use art and music. It is a wonderfull oportunity for me to implemment and put to work all that I know about teaching English.

Finally,I would like to thank my teacher and mentor Jennifer Hoyzman. She taught me to be creative and open minded. She gave me a lot of confidence and so many tips and feedbacks.

I couldn’t make it without her guidness support and smart observations.
