Hello, my name is Elisa. I’m 14 years old.

I’m a student at st. st. Cyril and Methodius Comprihensive school. This year I’m a student in a foreign languages class. My favourite subjects at school are English and Literature. In my free time I like journaling and listening to music. I’m really into Spanish Hip-hop. I want to study English phiology. My ambition is to become an English teacher.

This place, which used to be a city itself, is now an area of picturesque streets, with handcraft shops set up in one-room houses, where families used to live.

The Monte Palace Madeira Museum is an ideal exhibition space nestled within the beautiful surroundings of a tropical garden.
There are three floors, two of which are dedicated to sculptures. The third floor is a unique mineral collection gathered from the four corners of the world.
One of the most interesting characteristics of the Monte Palace Madeira is the existence of a large collection of tile panels placed along the walkways, this collection is considered to be one of the most important in the country.

This street is basically a stone path. When the area was first settled, a small church, Santa Maria of the Pebble (Santa Maria do Calhau), was built.
The street is a mixture of residential houses and commercial establishments. The families that reside here have been on the street for generations. Well known and not so well known artists have painted the doors of private houses. The illustrations are masterful, adding a feeling of liveliness and color to the street.

The Santa Clara Convent was built in the late 16th century, by order of the second captain-major of Funchal, João Gonçalves da Câmara, in the erea of his father’s residence, to gather the daughters of the local nobility.
In the Convent we can visit: the Courtyard, an access porch to the Choirs and Cloister, and the Lower and Upper Choir, with a beautiful panorama of the interior of Santa Clara Church.
