The first stanza describes what is a worthwhile day. A worthwhile day is if you sit at the end of the day and count the acts that you have done and you can remember you did at least One kind act , then it is a worthwhile day. In the first picture I chose to look at the whole family. The picture describes a content family who is clearly enjoying while having a thanksgiving dinner together. In the picture you can see that the food has been cooked (probably by everyone), you can see how they are truly smiling to each other and spending with everyone a well spent time, for example even taking a picture of everyone smiling to remember the moment.

As well as the first picture, the second picture is also describing a worthwhile day. However in this picture we can only see a mother and son. The mother is making her son laugh and the opposite. As well as the first picture the main thing we see and feel is the happiness they are transmitting to each other, which makes the day worthwhile. Both pictures are very similar but the message is clear, if you make the people around you happy, it will satisfy you and you’ll feel what they feel too.

“If you sit down at set of sun And count the acts that you have done, And, counting, find One self-denying deed, one word…… then you may count that day well spent”.

The quote from the story tells us what is a worthwhile day and what’s not. It tells us that if we do good for others then it is a worthwhile day, for example: saying at least one good word or even a self denying act. Those are the kind of stuff that makes the day a day well spent. Like I wrote before, the pictures are showing us a family who are having a fun time with each other and making each other laugh.

The second stanza describes what is a wasted day. A wasted day is day you haven’t brought any smile on another face, or even helped someone for free. In the first picture we can see a guy eating alone and watching tv. The old is only by himself spending time alone. He does not make anyone smile, help anyone or even cheer any heart. We can notice that the old guy is not happy because he hasn’t done anything but looking out for himself all day long.

In the second picture, like the first one we can see a guy who is all by himself. He is having a great time, eating and playing video games. The only guy who’s having a great time is him. In this picture he is smiling and very satisfied, and in the first picture the old guy is not very happy. However both are not making anyone smile or cheering any heart. The stanza describes a wasted day as anything but doing good for another person. Even if someone is having a funny and smiley day it won’t count as a worthwhile day because he didn’t make any good difference in another persons day.

“If, through it all, you’ve nothing done that you can trace That brought the sunshine to one face, No act most small that helped some soul and nothing cost, Then count that day as worse than lost.”

This quote describes how a day is a wasted day. It tells us that if we don’t help some soul not even in the smallest thing that made someone smile, then it is a wasted day. In both pictures we see how they don’t make any one happy, especially how they don’t spend time with anyone, how they dont what to make a good difference in another person’s day.
