 Main characters

 1- Scout Finch: she is a very smart and special girl who acts consciously and is older than her age and we see that when (she fights boys without fear and learns to read before beginning school), and his dad is a lawyer

2- Atticus Finch: he is a widower and father of two children (Jem and Scout), and he is a lawyer he is very sticky with his principles, and he can’t ignore an oppressed person Especially racism against blacks

3- Jem Finch: Scout Brother, lived through many situations in which he saw the world as unfair, but Jim had hope that he would remain in the world for good.

4- Boo Radley: He is the mysterious neighbor of the two children who keeps himself in the house and does not leave it and he is very shy, but he was trying throughout the story to keep the two children safe, and he put gifts for them.

The setting:

 Place: town of Maycomb, Alabama

Time: (1933–1935)

 Plot (Sequence of events):

The story speaks about two brothers and their father, and the children feel curious about their neighbor because there are many rumors about him, and the children try to sneak and look through the windows.

In court, the accused, Tom Robinson, his skin is black he is accused of raping a white girl named Beyla, and her father is very drunk.

And Judge Taylor is forced to appoint Atticus as Tom’s attorney due to the lawyers’ failure to take up the case due to the racism that exists towards blacks. This situation puts Atticus in a difficult position, but he does not abandon the case because of his principles.

Although from all evidence that he gave Atticus Finch which was proving that Tom is innocent, and Maya is the aggressor.

However, the court declared Tom guilty and the whole town stops dealing with Bob and his family and tarnishing his reputation, which makes Bob angry A lot of the lawyers and his family want revenge when Bob finds the opportunity to kill James and Squat when they head back home for Halloween night.
Squat’s clothes protect her from Bob’s blows. James has broken his arm. Suddenly a strange man confronts Bob and saves the two children while Bob drowns in his blood.

Then Squat discovers that this man is Boo Radley, and she starts to think about life from his point of view.

Main idea

The book tries to convey to us several important messages that many groups live by.

First, people do not accept people who are different from them and are ready to hate a group or person just because they are different.

Second, even when there is evidence and facts, there is a high probability that justice will not be achieved for unjustified reasons.

 And not to believe the rumors because they might be wrong.

My opinion

One of the books that I am reading in my life and the message of the story is very important, and even today we are suffering in the same conflict, and I wish that Tom had not died, and he did not get this injustice.

And I went to tell Atticus Finch I’m very proud of you to stand.

up for tom despite the hardships you face.
