Ann asked Kate for an approval to marry Chris in exchange for not turning Joe in. Kate refuses this offer and Anne is left helpless. Ann storms out of the house in order to turn Joe in and runs into Chris who has just returned. Chris doesn’t understand why she’s so upset and asks her what happened, Ann tells him about her plan to turn his father in. He supports her decision and they go to the police station together. At the station they file a complaint against Joe and explain what happened at the plant between Joe and Steve on the day the defective cylinders were delivered. The policeman realizes the seriousness of Joe’s act and goes with Anne and Chris to the Keller family home. While Chris and Ann were gone, Joe and Kate were stressed and didn’t know if Ann would really follow through on her threat. When Ann Chris and the policeman arrived at their home they had no way to deny the accusations .Joe is arrested and taken to the station where he confesses everything, expresses a willingness to apologize for his actions and improve as a person.
