In this new ending, instead of committing suicide, Joe Keller confesses to his crimes and turns himself in to the authorities. He admits to knowingly shipping faulty airplane parts during World War II, resulting in the deaths of 21 pilots.

As he awaits trial, his family struggles with the ramifications of his actions and the betrayal of their trust. His son Chris, who had previously idolized his father, is torn between love and disgust for him.

In the end, Joe is found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. The Keller family is left to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives, but they begin to find solace in the fact that the truth has finally come to light. Chris, in particular, finds peace in knowing that he can no longer deny the reality of his father’s actions and can finally begin the process of moving on.

The play ends with Chris looking towards the future, with the knowledge that although his father’s actions have caused immense pain, he will not repeat the same mistakes. He will strive to be a better person and make a positive impact on the world.
