The purple egg By Shahar Arell & Aya Avinoam

Hi, I’m Emma . Let me tell you a story that I will never forget. It all started 2 tears ago, when me and my best friends Alex and Jake were hanging out in woods when suddenly we found a cave. We got into the cave and we saw on the ground a strange big purple egg . ”What the hell is this?” Jake asked, looking at the egg. “What do you think, stupid” said Alex.  “It’s probably some animal egg. Alex picked up the egg and started throwing it in the air. “You know it looks like the  the egg I’ve heard about in old fairytale” .Jake said as he looked at Alex throwing the egg to the sky. “What fairytale?” I asked. “According to what I’ve heard, it’s a magical egg that makes the time stop for everyone but the people who had it. I think it’s kind of a curse” he said and Alex and I laughed . “That’s the dumbest fairytale I’ve ever heard whoever told you that is really stupid” Alex laughed.

“If it’s just sitting like that in the forest it’s probably not an important egg ”Alex continue calmly. I don’t know why but I had a bad feeling. ”Jack , think fast” Alex said as he tossed Jack the egg and without noticing we started play with the egg. ” I have to admit I’m intrigued to know what’s inside” said Alex , and without thinking too much he threw the egg to the ground and instade of crashing to the ground it was floawting in the air and start glowing.. I had strange feeling and I knew I wasn’t the only one, when I saw their facial expressions. “Why did you do that?” I asked ״. “um.. guys..?” Jake said as he looked up at the sky. Alex and I looked up and I was shocked.. There where some birds in the sky that wasn’t moving , looking like someone froze them. What the ”hell..?” I thought I was hallucinating.

We started running until we saw a group of people and.. wait what?! They stood without moving . “Why aren’t they moving?” Jake asked stressed. He started slapping people and they just didn’t move. “Oh my god, this is so cool” said Alex. “Are you serious!?” Jake shouted. “Think about it, we can do whatever we want, no one can tell us what to do! “I don’t know what to think, I’m still in shock״ I said and realized that we can really do and have anything we want without paying any money, without anyone telling us what to do or not to do, free from school. Real heaven.. We really have good time for few days. Eating, drinking, playing and do whatever we wanted. After a few days Jake started to feel bad and had a serious asthma attack. We started to get really stressed because we didn’t know what to do and how to help him. There was no one around that can help us.

Jake got so sick. He couldn’t get out of bed and he started hallucinate and eventually lost conscious. Alex and I was so afraid and blamed ourselves and each other. I felt like I was in a never-ending nightmare and I’m just waiting for someone to wake me up. It wasn’t fun any more.. I decided to take Alex and investigate about the fairytale Jake talked about. I took every possible book while Alex was looking for information about the fairytale when suddenly I heard Alex’s voice “I found it!” I ran to him and saw him looking at the computer “Look at the picture, it’s The same egg!! It says that 500 years ago there was a war about the egg, people from one group tried to use the egg power to help to change the world to a better place-stop time to find a cure for diseases. however the second group wanted to use the egg for selfish reasons-Stop time to kill their enemies and rule the world.

Anyway, during the fights the egg got lost. It’s also says that every 100 year the egg appears and who ever find it has one week to do one good , unselfish thing that helps someone else and then everything back to normal like it was before finding the egg, but with the knowledge you gain during the past week. Look at the time. We have 10 hours until 18:00 pm to clean this mess. If we fail, Jake could die and we will be stuck alone in this world and when time past we will die too and it will be the end of the world. What should we do?” We set down helpless, didn’t Know what to do and where to start. Suddenly we heard noise outside, we went out and saw someone on the ground. We got closer and saw an unconscious man. We picked him up and took him to the house and put him on a bed next to Jake. We took care of him and nurses him.

All this time we didn’t think off the egg and that we are running out of time. We just concentrate in helping the stranger. After few hours, he woke up. He told us that a week ago he was in regular flight and suddenly the engine stopped working and the helicopter crashed into the wood. He walked few days and everywhere he saw people and animal looking frozen. He was scared, so he kept on moving until he fainted at our doorstep. We told him what happened and we pointes at Jake. “And now it’s 17:30 pm and we are runing out on time. And Jake’s going to die because we don’t know how to help him, and you will be stuck with us and we are all going to die and” I cried. “Wow…wait. Everything going to be ok. I’m a doctor. I can help your friend”. He went to Jake’s bed and started treating him. I looked at my watch. Something looks strange. the time was 16:00 pm. I looked at the date and saw that it was 7 days ago. I looked up again , the room was gone and the three of us were back in the woods facing a cave.
