The Electricity Authority is the authority responsible 
for the regulation and supervision of tariffs
 in the electricity sector in Israel.

Part of the role of the Electricity Authority
 is to determine the electricity tariff in Israel,
 and to implement the decisions of the Israeli government
 that set a required level for electricity production by
 private producers, and with renewable energies,
 by encouraging and regulating private electricity
 producers and electricity producers from renewable energies
, at the same time as the electricity company that owns
 the majority of electricity production capacity in Israel.
