What is Dysmenorrhea or period pain?
Dysmenorrhea or menstrual cramps is the sensation of cramping pains in the lower abdomen.
Types of Dysmenorrhea
Primary Dysmenorrhea
Primary dysmenorrhea begins at the start of your first period and continues throughout your life. It can cause severe menstrual cramping due to severe and abnormal uterine contractions.
Secondary Dysmenorrhea
Secondary dysmenorrhea is mostly caused by some other medical condition, such as pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis.
