The Statue of Liberty is one of the main attractions of the USA

The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World) is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York City, in the United States. The copper statue, a gift from the people of France, was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and its metal framework was built by Gustave Eiffel. The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886.

About 1,360 tons of cement were used to make its pedestal. It took 8,000 barrels to transport it all.

3) The seven rays emanating from the crown of the Statue of Liberty are actually a separate element of the sculpture “They should create the impression of a halo and represent the seven seas and seven continents.” In 1938, the beams were temporarily removed from the crown to replace rusted supports.

4) The statue is built from copper sheets mounted on a metal frame. Initially, its color was not green, it turned green over time due to oxidation.
