• Personal life:                                                          William Shakespeare was born and raised in a small town called Stratford in the county of Warwickshire.                 At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway with whom he had three children. Not later then he began a successful career in London as an actor, writer and part-owner of a playing company called the Lord Chamberlain’s Men. At age of 49, he retired to Stratford where he died three years later.

• Interesting facts:                                                                                      1) Willian Shakespeare is regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s pre-eminent dramatist.                                        2) Shakespeare had close connections with King James the first. The King made the actors of Shakespeare’s company ‘Grooms of Chamber’, in response to which Shakespeare changed the company’s name from the ‘Lord Chamberlain’s Men’ to the ‘King’s Men’. The new title made Shakespeare a favourite with the King and in much demand for Court performances.
