It did not take long for news to spread of what Faihai had done, and the other monks, while against Bai Suzhen for being a demon, believed that Fahai had become too extreme and came to the monastery to apologize to Xu Xian, the white snakes lover for what the meddling monk had done.

However, just at that moment their son Shi Lin burst through the door with a stressed look in his face. Explaining that His mother had summoned a Tsunami and heavy winds to free herself from the Earth and destroyed many neighboring villages to the pagoda. This foolish act had destroyed many houses and hurt many people, angering Nu Wa.

Shi Lin attempted to persuade the monks to set his father free, his eyes and hands seemed to glow as he bargained to set Xu Xian free. While his advances were denied there was a sudden rumbling over the river from where the monastery stood, thousands of soldiers made of clay from the bank seemed to slide into form! It was clear that this was the work of Nu Wa, and they must save Bai Suzhen before it is too late.

The Monks stressfully agreed to unexile Xu Xian and they rushed to the river together. Seeing the hard footprints of clay the soldiers left behind they started trekking forwards. Suddenly, a  misty wisp of air twirled around them and Fengbo, the god of air appeared in front of them! “Xu Xian you have proved your loyalty to the gods as you have to me, I will give you the strength of the wind to save your wife and re-unite your family.” Fengbo said in a fast, deep voice. With their newfound blessing of the wind, Xu Xian and Shi Lin seemed to slide through the muddy path Nu Wa’s soldiers made yelling their thanks before Fengbo disappeared into mist once more.

Seeing that the soldiers’ footprints have led them to Nu Wa’s resting place in Tian. They quietly slowed down and made their way up a cloudy mountain. It was tall and cut through the sky like a sharp blade but seemed to be lying on its side, calmly sleeping. The hike up was difficult, but the wind blew upwards as the stones around them formed stairs upwards, like it was quietly beckoning them forwards.

Growing tired as they reached the top, Xu Xian and Shi Lin broke through the clouds. Relieved at what they saw in front of them, they darted towards Bai Suzhen, re-uniting their family once more! Melting into each other’s arms as they looked back up at Nu Wa, she had a calm motherly expression on her face as she explained that she made the soldiers bring Faihai and the white snake to her as a way of fixing needless meddling burdening the rest of China.

Nu Wa and the other gods believed that while Bai Suzhen was born a demon, she had proved herself to be loving with possessions of powers she was not great enough to control.

Nu Wa Bent down and held Bai Suzhen in her hands, pressing her put against her chest she closed her eyes and a glow formed around her heart. Xu Xian and their son as well as the monk stared in awe as Nu Wa said calmly “From this day forward you are The White Snake goddess, a symbol of true love and good-heartedness.” Lady Bai seemed to have fallen asleep in Nu Wa’s hands and was put gently into Xu Xian’s embrace.
