Since vegetables have low calorie-density, keep their intake to a minimum.
Eating meat regularly can help build muscle. By eating at least one gram of protein for each pound in your target weight you can hit the goal quickest. This helps you to store greater amounts of protein and the greater amount of protein in your system the better your muscles can grow.
Try doing real stairs instead of the stairs that your gym has. This can help change the perspective that you have for working out, give you an additional amount of motivation, burn more fat, and build more muscle. The additional scenery could also help you workout for a longer period of time.
