Chapter 1: Year 5

When I first walked the steps of C.I.S., I felt like I was growing up, since I it my first day of Year 5 and it’s a high grade in primary. I felt like giant sparks of light spinning around my tummy when I first walked into my class, because I was about to meet new friends.

Ever since I’ve started 5th grade, I’ve been making a lot of new friends, even though I barely knew anyone outside my class. Me and my friends have learning a lot of Math, Science, Writing, Literacy, History, Science in year 5, I found all that hard but I was able to go through it all. We were taught by our Miss Animasaun.

On my birthday(which was on 8th of May), it was a huge celebration, we had pizza, with ice-cream and treats (I think)

Then on Saturday May 9th (the day after my birthday) I invited my friends to my house, we had a swell time.

Then it was the end of the school year, we did a play of Pocahontas 2: Journey to a new world.

Year 5A (my class) did a nice dance. The day after the play we had a class party. The day after that, we graduated, it was the last day of the school year.

Chapter 2: A whole new grade

After the summer of year 5, it was time for year 6, the highest grade in primary. I felt exploding fireworks inside my tummy, as I opened my class door because I was about meet my old friends and make new friends and get a new teacher!!!!!!!

I have been working on a lot Math, example: fraction, roman numerals.

Then there’s Literacy, yup answering 35 questions from a text could take all afternoon.

When it comes to history and science class, I’m as tired as a sloth when I’m done!!

I’ve been doing great in year 6, once my table group did a project of the amazon rainforest, cool right?

           BATTLE OF THE HOUSES

So get this… to the end of Christmas we had a choir challenge in the main hall at December 10th 2015. there were four houses in C.I.S.: Acasia (yellow house), Sycamore (red houses), Jacaranda (blue house), Willow (green house).

We sang a song that had to do with when baby Jesus was born, I don’t actually remember the name of the song, though. Unfortunately, that’s what every house sang for the challenge.

I’m in blue house and everyone in blue house practised in the religious education room in secondary school. We wore our sport shirt and school shorts and skirts so people will know which house we’re in.

When all the houses finished the singing, it was time for judges to speak. I was so excited smiled the whole time.

Chapter 3:Back to school

We came back to January 4th for spring term and I have STILL been dealing with stress of complicated science, historical history,

Literal literacy, numeral numeracy but some of the classes were fun, though.

Once, the entire year 6 went on a field trip to the Lekki conservation centre. I was terrified at first because I have an HUGE zoophobia but I was calm later. We saw peacocks, monkeys, alligators, birds e.t.c. fact: you can make a monkey your friend just by giving it a banana. At one point I thought a huge ferocious lion would pop out of nowhere and attack us. Okay that would be ABSOLUTELY HORRORFYING and I’ll bet I’ll just die because my heart will paining me SO BADLY.

Also we had a special week called…

Science and Numeracy week

I didn’t actually compete though because I didn’t ask my family for any money soon. There were pie eating and throwing contest, skittles jar competition and whoever won will get huge jar of skittles. Math and Science quiz e.t.c. we had a healthy food contest and year 6c (my class) made the best and did a Spanish dance.

The week was so much fun. It was from February 29th to March 4th.

Sports Day

The whole school once a sports tournament at the school field the four houses raced it was awesome, it was fun. I was supposed to compete at the three legged race with a 6A student and primary head boy: Aditya ,but the race was CANCELLED I was upset and later that I got an injury and I had to go to the nurse’s tent.

I was totally both mad and sad that I didn’t compete in anything and Aditya totally bailed me out and went home. It just like last in year 5 except no one bailed me in that time. To cheer me up, Mofe in 6A gave me her medal and that totally made me up.

I kept in one of the drawers in my dressing mirror, and that’s where it is this today. But don’t WORRY whoever reads this book, I’ll give the medal to Mofe before the end of the year.

Funday

On Saturday 5th of March the school had FUNDAAAY. there were some bouncy castles, contests and prizes and a GAME TRUCK, I can’t BELIEVE they won’t let come in. It was a HOT, HOT day but it was WORTH it.

AAAAAAND, there was William Shakespeare play and I had to MISSED it because I was going trip to France and Switzerland. Honestly the trip was FUN, even though I was trapped in two countries for a week with 3 and 8 SENCONDARY kids, but we became good friends and we did a lot of shopping. And THAT was the end of spring term.

Chapter 4: The important parts

To be honest, I’ve actually liked my life at C.I.S, even though my subjects can be pretty tough; twice or three times my class took an entire hour to answer 5 questions out of 12 questions.

Then I once learnt that all learning is transferable and linked together and answering those questions is linked to Literacy and so does Drama because you talk sentences.

And….. the whole year 6 has been practicing for a school play: the year 1982 movie Annie, yeah, that is the total opposite of modern. I’m a police man.

I even celebrated my 11th birthday at school it was so much fun, I brought pizza, cupcakes, and my birthday cake to take pictures. I wore a light brown shirt with black stripes, with a short and sneakers.

Chapter 5: The end of school

From September to this day…school has been GREAT.

I have made a lot of friends,

learnt about Metric Units,

learnt about history of Charles Darwin and Albert Russell Wallace,

learnt how to be a Global Citizen,

learnt how to answer questions in text,

e.t.c

Yup, it’s almost the end of school and everyone is bustling about doing important stuff, it’s like a hard knock life

and lately we’ve been busy practising for Annie so much that we had to skip our classes, but if you want to figure how got through the stress, go back to Chapter 4.

So my life has been a mess and fantastic but I love it. Me and my friends are almost ending primary and moving to year 7 and ready to start a new life. We’ll meet new friends, get new teachers and so many awesome things could happen to us. Besides, school is where we learn and we’re all 11 years old, what can happen?
