Orion and the Dragon

The legend says that, a long time ago, a centaur named Orion and her friends walked happily through Zendor (A magical forest full of magical creatures like centaurs, sattires, unicorns, etc).

They were going to an archery tournament to cheer for their friend Opalite when the royal trumpets made a strange sound. This meant that the king had something VERY important to say

That evening, there was a big feast at the royal castle, in which the king and queen were hosts. Suddenly, the king announced that he was going to gave a speech. He said: “We are in danger!. Sangkan, the fire dragon that lives in the Thoke mountain, wants to destroy our beautiful village!” Everyone was scared.

 But Orion and Opalite were NOT scared. The queen took them into a dark tower, full of artifacts like wands, stones with healing powers, cloaks of invisibility, and a beautiful sword made of pure silver. The queen- called Melea- grabbed the sword and gave it to Orion. “With this sword, you must defeat our enemy, can I trust you?”

“Yes – she replied- I will do the best I can, your Majesty. Thank you”

Orion was a little bit scared, so she invited Opalite to go with her. Together they travelled to Thoke mountain, home of Sangkan.

In the dragon´s lair, they found Sangkan sleeping, so the friends started to attack him. But suddenly the dragon woke up and hurt Opalite.

Orion was very angry, so she climbed into the dragon´s back and cut his head. They had completed their mission!

Sadly, Opalite fainted because she was victim of poisoning from the dragon´s breath. Orion waited patiently for her friend to recover and fell asleep forever ,next to her friend.

Once a month, the friend´s spirits fly through the air, reminding us about true friendship and courage.
