London is the capital and largest city of England and the United Kingdom. It is a city full of history, famous landmarks, and a modern life. In this book, I’ll take you on a journey through some of my favourite places in London.

Bonfire Night

Bonfire night is a big deal in London because in 1605 Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament,this was called the Gunpowder Plot. But the plan failed, and he was caught.

Every year on November 5th, people in London celebrate Bonfire night with fireworks, bonfires, and fun celebrations to remember him.

Famous Landmarks

London has many famous places to visit. Big Ben is a tall clock tower next to River Thames.

Buckingham Palace is where the King lives, and you can see the Changing of the Guard there.

Tower Bridge opens to let ships pass and looks beautiful at night.

The London Eye is a giant wheel that gives amazing views of the whole city.

Travelling in London

London is easy to travel around.

People use the tube, red double decker buses, and black cabs to get everywhere.

You can also walk or ride a bike to see sights up close.

Culture and Entertainment

Theatre and Performance: West End is world famous for musicals and plays.

Museums: British Museum, Tate Modern, Victoria and Albert museum and the Natural History Museum.

Festivals: Notting Hill Carnival, London Film Festival, London Fashion Week.

British Food

Fish and chips, full English breakfast, roast dinner, shepherds pie and the most known, afternoon tea.

Parks and Nature

The most known parks are Hyde park, St. James park and Kew Gardens these are great for picnics or even just a calm walk.
