The show originated in 2009 under the name “City of Valencia Floating Exhibition” and has since evolved into a major international nautical fair.

Since its transition to autumn (2016), it has become one of the Mediterranean’s key boat-shows offering sea trials and serving as a strategic platform for industry deals.

By 2025 the event reached its 16th edition, held from 22 to 26 October 2025, and featured hundreds of brands and new vessels, confirming its growth and importance in the nautical sector.

Founded as a Roman colony in 138 BC, Valencia’s urban fabric expands over two millennia—Roman grid beginnings, Islamic fortifications, then Christian-Gothic growth.

The medieval period left key landmarks like the Valencia Cathedral (begun in the 13th century) with predominant Gothic features, built over a former mosque.

In the 20th and 21st centuries, Valencia embraced modern and avant-garde architecture—Art Nouveau façades, and iconic complexes like the City of Arts and Sciences (constructed from 1996 onward) designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela.
