A tornado is a really bad disaster that destroys homes and sometimes life.

May 22 2011 a tornado called “The Joplin Tornado” struck Joplin Missouri. It was an EF5 tornado. An EF5 is the worst tornado possible.The Joplin Tornado traveled 22.1 miles during its path.

The Joplin Tornado is one of the worst tornado’s it cost up to $1 billion to $3 billion.The winds caught up to 200 mph.Estimated 38 min destroyed about 7,000 homes.

This tornado killed 158 people. The Joplin tornado destroyed lots of homes and lives. There where over 1000 injuries during the deadly tornado.
