in 1920 Andrew Foster and his team members desided to create the National Negro League(NNL). in the 1860s when baseball started up African Americans were able to play alongside whites but due to the Jim Crow laws that changed.

blacks were able to once again to play with whites when major leagues put blacks on their roster for their team. One of the first blacks to play on a major ball team was Jackie Roberson. he got drafted to the dodgers in 1947.

The end to the great empowerment of the NNL ended after the season of 1949. the major reason for the end of the NNL was African Americans being drafted int major league in the MLB. Another reason is that the NNL didn’t put out as much entertainment as the white major league teams.

Jackie Robinson and Larry Doby  were the first of many black players to get drafted into the MBL. They gave hope to a lot of black ball players in there time. not only did they give hope but they were two of the greatest players in there time. Jackie is a 6x all star and Larry is a 7x all star.
