Opening paragraph:

This is the story about a boy called Gerry Durrell he is ten years old and he loves animals and insects.

He has mother and two brothers which names are: Larry and Leslie and one sister, her name: Margo.

Gerry left England with his family to live on the Greek island of Corfu.

The plot:

One day Gerry had a good idea, to leave England and go to Corfu because in England always cold and everybody gets ill.

Gerry’s mother sold their house and all the family arrived to Corfu.

In Corfu they bought a small villa with a little garden.

Along the story Gerry’s family moved to a number of houses, met different and special people, and in every house

Gerry found himself animals and insects which he collected for his home.

What did you like about the book?

In the story I like to read about the animals that Gerry met in every house he came to.

I love animals like Gerry so the story interested me.

Which scene did you like?

My favorite scene in the book was when Gerry found a female scorpion with a lot of babies on her back.

Gerry wanted to watch them grow, so he put them in matchbox and take them to his home.

he put the matchbox on the table and went into the dining room to eat.

Gerry wanted to show them to his family but, the scorpions run everywhere and all the family shouted!!!

Summary:

I like animals and that’s why I chose this book, but I will not recommend my friends reading this book because the plot is not  interesting enough.
