Frida was born on July 6, 1907, in Coyocoan, Mexico.

At age 6 she contracted polio and was in bed rest. Frida began to draw.

Frida was full of life. She was known in school for her vibrant colors and the way she dressed.

Kahlo left school one day with a friend. The bus they were in crashed. Frida almost died.

Frida became a famous painter in Mexico. She is known for her self- portraits. Her paintings contain passion, pain, and vibrant colors.
