
Before Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball he married his beautiful wife Rachel Robinson in February of 1946.

Jackie Robinson was the first black athlete to play in the Major League Baseball in the 20th century. He signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947.

Jackie Robinson was named Rookie of the Year in 1947. He was also named National League MVP in 1949, and World Series Champion in 1955.

Also by Jackie signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers he broke the color barrier in the MLB. He also became the highest paid athlete in Dodgers history before he retired.

During Jackie Robinsons decade long career he also became a vocal civil rights activist. But later on in 1972 Jackie Robinson passed away from heart problems and diabetes complications.
