Hello I’m Mr. Max Kelada.
A few years ago I was on my way from San Francisco to Yokohama.

Let me tell you about my journey on that ship.

I was on that ship after WW1, so you can understand why my cabin was so small.

I was told that I have to share a small cabin with a stranger.

It might be difficult to share a cabin with a stranger, but when I was told I have to share a cabin with a British man, like me, I  already knew we would have what to talk about.

I noticed he didn’t really like me.

He even didn’t believe me that I was a british man!

I’m going to tell you about the night that changed my realationship with my companion.

After that dinner my companion loves me!

At the dinning room’s table I met Mr. &Mrs. Ramsay.

I noticed Mrs. Ramsay’s spectacular necklace.

Those pearls on her necklace were real for sure.

I know everything about pearls.

Therefore, I couldn’t be wrong.

Mr. Ramsay didn’t believe me.

He was sure his wife’s necklace was bought for 20$ in some lame shop, like she told him.

He was so sure that he wanted to bet about this.

So 100$ won’t be a bad idea to get if he so insisted about that.

I saw Mrs. Ramsay’s face.

She was so embarrassed.

Then I realized, I should have given up my dignity in order to save the couple’s marriage.

In that night I gave up my 100$ and my dignity but I knew it was the right thing to do.

Later on this night I saw an envelope in my cabin.

Mrs. Ramsay gave me 100$ back.

She knew I was right and I knew she hid something from her husband.
