Martin Luther King Jr. Had a famous speech, called: “I have a Dream”

Here is one thing that you didn’t know about it:  King put aside his prepared remarks and extemporaneously delved into the “dream” section of the speech after his friend Mahalia Jackson, a gospel singer, shouted out to him: “Tell ‘em about the dream, Martin.

Here are two sentences from his speech:

  1. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

  2. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”
