MORAL DILEMMA

Imagine you are in a situation that you are the only one who can make the decision how many people are going to get killed, and who they will be.

You see a train coming in your direction, and then you see that there are 6 people on the track, 5 of them are your family members. You are standing next to a handle, if you decide to pull the handle the train will tarned left, and you will save 5 lives, your family. If you will pull the handle the train will hit another innocent person. That person working on the next cancer medicine, that will be able to save millions lives, and he is the only person that have that formula.

You have to think fast, because you only have 8 seconds to decide before the train will hit,

If you choose to pull the handle you saved your family lives, but you toke the opportunity from millions of people that have cancer to heal. And you toke an innocent person’s life, that all his life he worked on that formula. Or you decided to not do anything and 5 members from your family are killed by now, but you saved millions of people.

If you won’t do anything, you won’t pull the handle but you won’t do anything to save your family, is it still means that you killed them?

Is it possible that when you take 1 life you can actually take a millions lives?
