When we first think about localization what comes to our mind is an address or where you are located, and it has sense but there is something beyond that. There are many uses of this Word such as biology, mathematics, engineery and thecnology and others.
According with Cambridge dictionary it says “is the process of making something local in character or restricting it to a particular place”.

Localization or localisation may refer to:
Engineering and technology:
GSM localization, determining the location of an active cell phone or wireless transceiver.
Robot localization, figuring out robot’s position in an environment.

In marketing refers to localization:
The process of making a product or service more suitable for a particular country, area, etc.
Bussines:
Localization is the adaptation of a product or service to meet the needs of a particular language, culture or desired population’s “look-and-feel.”

Physics:
Anderson localization, in condensed matter physics, the absence of diffusion of waves in a disordered médium.
In physics, the principle of locality states that an object is only directly influenced by its immediate surroundings. A theory which includes the principle of locality is said to be a “local theory”. This is an alternative to the older concept of instantaneous “action at a distance”. Locality evolved out of the field theories of classical physics. The concept is that for an action at one point to have an influence at another point, something in the space between those points such as a field must mediate the action.

Language:
Language localization, translating a product into different languages or adapting a product to a country or región.
Internationalization and localization, the adaptation of computer software for non-native environments, especially other nations and cultures.

Biology:
Localization of function, locating psychological functions in the brain or nervous system.
Localization of sensation, ability to tell what part of the body is affected by touch or other sensation; see Allochiria.
Neurologic localization, in neurology, the process of deducing the location of injury based on symptoms and neurological examination.
Nuclear localization signal, an amino acid sequence on the surface of a protein which acts like a ‘tag’ to localize the protein in the cell.
Sound localization, a listener’s ability to identify the location or origin of a detected sound.

In psycholinguistics localization of function is the concept that different parts of the brain are responsible for individual and discreet functions. Much of the early research on localization of function was the result of studies of patients with brain damage.

There you are a list of movies which principal topic is brain damaged in order you to see and identify how language production can be affected:
-The Soloist
-The King speech
-Memento
-The vow
-Concussion
-My beautiful broken brain
-Patients
-The story of Kathy Morris
-Rain man
-A beautiful mind
-I am Sam
As a conclusion in general terms we can define localization as an idea that something belong to a limited area. Another way to considered it is adapt a product or a service to the cultural, linguistic, and technical requirements of a locale.
