Count That Day Lost
If you sit down at set of sun
And count the acts that you have done,
And, counting, find
One self-denying deed, one word
That eased the heart of him who heard,
One glance most kind
That fell like sunshine where it went —
Then you may count that day well spent.
But if, through all the livelong day,
You’ve cheered no heart, by yea or nay —
If, through it all
You’ve nothing done that you can trace
That brought the sunshine to one face–
No act most small
That helped some soul and nothing cost —
Then count that day as worse than lost.
Picture 1:

On this picture, we can see a young girl gives water to two old people. Even that its only water, water can make them survive more time. So even the small things can help to others. It connects to the poem by that that the first stanza tells about helping or making someone cheer can make a difference because you did something good to someone else, and the picture shows a help to people who need a help.
Picture 2:

The second one shows a barefoot girl and barefoot guy, but the guy gives his flip flops to her because as it looks in the picture, she needs them more than he needs because he can buy for himself new flip flops, but she cant. The connecting between the poem and the picture is that the poem shows that if you do something good, is something you do to somebody else that’s good, that’s to say that you should do something good to somebody else, even if it’s something that seems to be simple and not critical, it can help to the person a lot. And the picture shows a help to a poor girl by giving her flip flops.
Picture 3:

It’s a little bit hard to see what’s going on here but this person jumped in the cold water to save the dog. He risked his life to save an animal that was in danger. the connection is that every help to somebody else is better than doing nothing, which means that the person could not save the dog and make it die in the cold water, but he didn’t just stand there and did nothing, he did a big miracle to the dog and saved it’s life.
