Tip One – The Heel
Identify your Achille’s heel. Your disability. Turn it into your “coolability” – your greatest success.
Winston Churchill did. Django Reinhardt did. You can.

Tip Two – Your knees
The only people who don’t fail are those who don’t compete. The only people who don’t fall off a bicycle are those who never learn to ride.
Consider this: How many people lose the men’s women’s singlest at Wimbledon? How many win?

Don’t be afraid to spill the coffee. Just do it elegantly.

Tip Three – Your pockets
There are networking opportunities everywhere. Seize them. Greet people. Meet people. Engage people. The person you are about to meet might be the one to change your career, your life, your perspective.

Tip Four – Your gut
Go with your passion. Turn it into your career. Best to combine it with another skill that you have. Create your individual profession.

Tip Five – Your Hands
Connect your hands to your heart and head. Learn to play a new instrument. I learned to play sax at 41 and performed internationally. There is no legal age limit.

Tip Six – Your Heart
Be a ‘H.E.E.L.’- Help everyone everywhere lovingly. When you reach out to help and assist, you will get more help than ever before.

Tip Seven – Your Mouth
Human beings are storytellers. Do you know how to tell yours?
Learn to converse in another language or two. Pourquois pas?
And don’t forget that smiling is contagious!

Tip Eight – Your Ears
Listening is even more important than talking. Become a good listener. I learned it first reading Dale Carnegie’s classic on “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” Speak less than you listen. It’s Jimmy Wales’ secret sauce. Make it yours too.

Tip Nine – Your Eyes
Observe everything. Be curious about everything you see. That’s what creative people do. Oh, it can’t be so hard – kids do it all the time.

Tip Ten – Your whole body
Love yourself. Groom yourself. Smile at yourself. Forgive yourself. Accept yourself. It’s hard to accept the ones you love as they are if you don’t accept yourself first. Good luck!

Tip Ten
Inevitably, we are going to jump into the cold water. Why wait the whole 90 seconds?

And Remember,
Your only competition in life is you. When it’s done you want to feel that you did the very best you possibly could.
