Or Yehuda is oraculous!!
And it’s all because of Ilan Aviv. And his friends, teachers and students.
I took Shuli to see this beautiful town, and the wonderful people that live and create here. It’s only half an hour from Tel Aviv, but it seems like a different country. A country of kindness, innocence, friendship and optimism. I like that.

Everything here is a throwback to an earlier era, when our country was younger and more naive.
Sasson still sells pastrami sandwiches for a song.
We sang.

The guy on the old tuk-tuk carrying all those empty boxes seemed to be everywhere.

We visited the wonderful kindergartens. The fruits of the children’s hard work were evident.

Saba (grandfather) David has been volunteering at one of the kindergartens for the past ten years. He is loved by all. It turns out that for forty years he was a garbage collector (a dream of youngsters everywhere). After retiring he found himself doing what he loves best – inspiring the future generation. Here he is with the cool teacher Ora.

We visited another of our favorite kindergartens. Shosh welcomed us!!!

I was even on television.

On our way, we bumped into Noga, who is in charge of all the kindergartens in town.
We had only wonderful things to say to her. I hope she was impressed enough to invite us back again.

At the primary school, the teachers were all smiles. There was Liron-Hila, Galit and Tali. I thought of enrolling myself.

At the end of our school tour, Ilan took us to see the Museum of the Libyan Jews – a real treat.
That museum deserves a book of its own. Or two.
