Haunted House?

“YAWN” My cousin and i both yawned.  It was a Friday night at about 1:30 in the morning. My cousin Dakota and i were just getting to sleep.  The lights were off, the T.V. was off, the only light was the light from my cousins clock on the T.V. About 20 minutes after we fell asleep out of nowhere we heard a noise it was a noise like footsteps, My cousin and I both woke up to the noise. “Maybe  just my mom” My cousin whispered. We both went back to sleep. Not even 1 minute later we heard the sound again. This time my stomach dropped suddenly i got scared the footsteps sounded heavy I knew this wasn’t my cousins mom. The footsteps got closer to my cousins door my cousin squeezed my hand I could tell she was scared also.

 “Stay Here” I whispered to her. I didn’t want her to get hurt. Of course she didn’t listen to me. I felt around her room to see if i could find anything sharp or  heavy just incase it wasn’t her mom outside of the door . I felt something heavy and and i recognized what it was it was a glass of water from earlier that day  I grabbed the glass of water and I looked for something for my cousin i felt something sharp and i grabbed it. As we tried to find the door we bumped into a few things because it was so  dark. I couldn’t find my phone so I couldn’t use my flashlight. After minutes of trying to get to the door we finally got there we both listened to see If we could hear anything. Sweat came from my face, i was shaking. “On 3” my cousin asked. “Let’s go”  I said .Out of nowhere we flung the door open and we saw… Stuffed animals. The weird part is they were in my cousins spare room on the bed!

We stood in shock for moments until we heard  “BANG”  It’s sounded like it was in her kitchen down stairs both dropped out “weapons” and we tried to quietly run into her mom’s room. As we opened her mom’s (megan) door we saw she was awake.”what are you girls doing up she asked.We told her what happened. of course her mom didn’t believe us that the house was haunted but her mom wanted to check the hose to make sure there wasn’t anybody like a robber  .We heard walking up the stairs, it was just her mom. “The doors are locked the windows are closed and locked and nobody in the hose and Dakota the stuffed animals were  probably in the hallway earlier” Dakotas mom said. There was no way her mom was going to convince us that.  It was a coincidence we know what happened nobody else! For the rest of the night my cousin and i layed on her mom’s comfy floor with pillows and blankets. We stayed up for the rest of the night and we texted each other to  try and figure out what was going on  We jumped every time we heard the tiniest noise.

To this day we don’t know what happened. Now we try to sleep at my house when we have sleepovers.We know for a fact it wasn’t Megan (Dakotas Mom) because we would have heard her door open.  Also her mom wouldn’t be able to keep a straight face as she was telling us that it was “just the wind”. Plus My cousins mom wouldn’t go down stairs to check to make sure there wasn’t anybody in the house if it was a joke.
