For thousands of years , different devices have been used to measure , record and track time .
A clock is a measuring device used for measuring time . the clocks that are commonly used daily are customary to specify the time in hours , minutes and sometimes in seconds.
Throughout history , different types of clocks have been used
Atomic clocks are the most accurate watches for practical use today. So precise that they are deviated by several seconds over many thousands of years, so they are used to calibrate watches and other time tracking devices
Throughout history , several clocks have been documented :
The earliest known clock with a water-powered movement mechanism, which conveyed circular energy to alternating movements.
At first the Egyptians divided the day into two 12 hour shifts and used large oblibris to monitor the solar movement.
Other ancient time-tracking measures include the candle clock, which was used in ancient China in ancient Japan, England and Mesopotamia.
The development of the spiral spring technology in the early 15th century enabled mobile watches to be developed into the first pocket watches in the 17th century .
In 1675, Huygens and Robert Hook invented the spiral balance spring designed to control the speed of the balance of the balance wheel. This crucial advance has finally enabled accurate pocket watches. This has made great progress in the accuracy of pocket watches.
In 1815 Sir Francis Ronalds (1788–1873) of London published the predecessor of the electric clock, the electrostatic clock.
