Ellie the Elephant Becomes a Star

Ellie the Elephant loved to sing and dance but only at home!

At school, Lilly the Lion was the star of the school!

Lilly the Lion, was a perfect size, had long pretty colorful hair and was the best singer.

Everyone at school always made fun of Ellie the elephant because she was too big and had dry skin and a long nose!

Ellie was so sad when people said these mean things to her. Her mother would always tell her to try out for the musical! Ellie always said no because she knew Lilly the lion and her friends would make fun of her. Lilly did not like it when other people tried out, she would roar and get very mean.

But one day Ellie was singing in the bathroom at school when Mrs. Myers the monkey walked in!

“WOW” Mrs. Myeers shrieked, “You can sing BEAUTIFULLY Ellie!”

Ellie blushed, “thank you!”
“You should audition for the musical this year,” Mrs. Myers said handing Ellie the flyer and then walked out!

Ellie took the flyer home and told her mother! Her mother told her “Ellie you should do it, you are a beautiful singer!”
That night Ellie thought all night and decided that she was going to do it!

The next day Ellie walked into auditions and Lilly the lion was not happy.

“What are you doing here?” Lilly asked angrily

“Auditioning for the musical” Ellie said with confidence as she walked past her.

Ellie walked onto the stage and sang her song. As she was singing everyone was shocked! Even Lilly!

When she was finished Lilly came to her and said, “WOW! I did not know you were so amazing!”

“Thank you, Lilly”

“I am sorry I was so mean to you Ellie, I just didn’t want to lose my spot as the star of the school” Lilly apologized “Do you want to work on lines this weekend at my house?”

“YES!” Ellie shrieked with excitement.

This was the start of a new friendship of the two stars in the school.
