who are the Amish people?

the amish are a community of traditional, religious people who live their lives in a different way from the most of the people. for example, they don’t use modern technology (phones, cars, TV…)

where did they come from and where do they live?

The Amish originally came from Swizerland and Germeny, they came to america becouse they sufferd from discrimination in their countreys. they settle in Pennsylvania, and later they scattered to 22 different countreys in USA, and to Ontario, Canada. the most of them still live in Pennsylvania. They live in villages.

Principle

the Amish principle are based on separation from the world, they stay in their community and families. they excommunicate people who don’t follow their rulls and stay on the “normal” way. their men only work in agriculture and the women are homemaker. The Amish don’t belive in political rule, they live by what the church tells them.

their looks

the men wear black clothes, like a German peasant, and wide black hat. they grow a beard but not mustache. the women wear long modest dresses and a kerchief, and they don’t wear jewelry. All those thing show part of the Amish principle, they simple and modest. Also, the different in the clothes encourage the separation from the outside world. the clothes are not allow physical and social freedom.

Aducation

Once, the Amish children went to schools outside the Amish village, but they had to open their own schools beacouse they wanted to prevent general education from their children, they wanted their children will continue their parents way and be farmers like them.
