HISTORY

Fighter planes first appeared in World War one. there were small propeller-driven aircraft. The armament of the aircraft was a machine gun in the front compartment (in the back cabin sat the pilot) which was synchronized with the propeller blade rotations.

In World War II, the planes were also used to achieve aerial superiority, mainly for bombing enemy targets and assisting ground forces. The Luftwaffe was the pioneer in the use of Junkers Ju 87 snorkels for the elimination of armored forces and assistance to ground troops in a combat doctrine known as the Blitzkrieg.
