Overusing fossil fuels is a big issue today. Fossil fuels are found underground in the Earth’s crust, and they are made out of decomposing plants and animals millions of years ago.

Fossil fuels when burned release carbon dioxide into the air. Carbon Dioxide when released into the atmosphere traps more heat than the atmosphere normally would, being a cause for global warming.

This is an issue in China and the US because they are the biggest consumers of fossil fuels in the world, and in Australia and the US are the biggest users of fossil fuels per capita.

Fossil fuels were first being burned in America in the 1800’s and it became an issue around the 1970’s.

In some instances, to get fossil fuels the land is being blown away by dynamite to expose the fossil fuels. This ruins the ecosystem to the point where it cannot return to what it once was. Then the unwanted rocks and soil will also be thrown into nearby streams along with acid runoff.

When being transported or when machinery breaks oil spills can happen. Oil can cover plants and animals and could kill them. Oil also can stop photosynthesis from happening in aquatic plants by blocking the sun.

One solution I came up with is using more renewable energy for power homes and buildings more. This will help more because fossil fuels would be burned less reducing carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Materials you would need are batteries for solar panels when the sun isn’t shining and metal for wind turbines.

Some companies that could help are Vestas one of the biggest wind turbine manufacturers.

Also JinkoSolar is one of the biggest producers of solar panels.

They could help by supporting the idea to use more renewable energy. It is important for people to follow this because environments are being ruined and global warming is being sped up.
